MEA Gas

Midstream: LNG, CNG and LPG for customers beyond di grid.

MEA Gas na di group midstream company. Dem build am to liquefy pipeline gas and carry LNG and CNG go customers beyond di grid: virtual pipeline by road, wey connect directly to MEA own fleet, stations and Go N' Fill.

  • Mini-LNG plant wey dey planned alongside di 614 km Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano pipeline, wey go carry Gas go Abuja, Kaduna and Kano.
  • LPG terminal, na receiving and storage terminal wey dem plan for Lagos.
  • CNG, L-CNG and virtual pipeline delivery to customers wey no dey connected to pipeline.
  • For selected MEA stations: LPG, LNG and CNG dey on sale, with L-CNG skids for di forecourt, so drivers, households and fleets fit buy Gas for where dem dey buy fuel.

Leadership. Yusuf Kama, CEO and Managing Director, na petroleum and natural gas engineer with 20+ years inside Oil and Gas and na him found Safegas, pioneer inside Nigerian LNG, LPG and propane infrastructure.

Dis na plans, e depend on di feasibility study and approvals.

The AKK pipeline

Di AKK pipeline dey tie di gas fields of di south to di north of di country. Nigeria get about 215 tcf of gas, yet much of di north no get gas supply. Dem don build di pipeline, and di next step na make gas start to flow. When e do, di benefits go reach far beyond di pipe itself.

  • Power

Gas for power plants for di north, so more of di grid go dey run on di fuel wey dey behind most of Nigeria electricity.

  • Industry

With reliable gas, idle factories along di corridor, like di textile plants for Kaduna, fit switch dia machines on again, and new ones fit open.

  • Jobs and communities

Construction employ more than 1,900 Nigerians directly and work with over 240 communities along di route.

  • Cleaner energy

When more gas dey used for house, less gas go dey flare for Niger Delta.

  • Beyond di pipe

Our mini-LNG plant beside di pipeline fit send gas by road, as virtual pipeline, to customers wey di pipeline no reach.

Di ground don already dey our hand: we don secure 20 hectares of land along di Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano pipeline for di mini-LNG plant.

Why Gas

Cheaper and cleaner pass diesel and petrol.

When di grid no fit meet demand, most Nigerian businesses and many households dey make dia own electricity. Nigerians don spend about ₦16.5 trillion on self-generated power in 2023, mostly on diesel and petrol. Gas dey give you di same power for less.

How much one unit of electricity cost

Naira per kilowatt-hour, Nigeria, 2024.

  • Grid, Band A: ₦206
  • Captive power wey gas dey run: ~₦290
  • Petrol generator: ~₦450
  • Diesel generator: ₦900 and above

Bayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, 2024, as Prime Business Africa report am

  • Businesses and factories

Switch a generator or captive plant to Gas and each unit of power costs around a third less than petrol and about two-thirds less than diesel.

  • Households

LPG for cooking is cleaner than firewood and kerosene, and cylinders are close at hand at MEA stations and through Go N' Fill.

  • Drivers and fleets

Fill up with CNG or L-CNG at the forecourt and every kilometre costs less.

Di savings na our calculation from di Minister of Power 2024 cost figures (about ₦290, ₦450 and ₦900 or more per kilowatt-hour). CNG saving: NNPC Retail, July 2024. Clean-cooking figure: Federal Ministry of Power, 2024.

Gas for power and di economy

Reliable electricity for everybody dey make economy competitive.

Gas don already dey generate about 80% of di electricity for Nigeria grid, yet di grid deliver only 4,000 to 5,400 megawatts in 2024 for more than 200 million people. Feed more gas to di power plants, and electricity go become steadier and cheaper for homes, hospitals, factories and offices.

  • Power plants

Gas na di fuel behind most of di megawatts for di grid. Every megawatt wey dem add dey help di whole economy.

  • Competitive industry

Factories wey dey pay less for power fit price dia products lower, compete with imports and sell more abroad.

  • Jobs and growth

Reliable power dey make small businesses open longer, dey keep food cold and dey make am possible to build new factories.

  • Power for everybody

Where pipeline no dey, LNG and CNG by road dey bring gas go towns and industrial sites wey di grid no reach.

Why we dey very confident for Gas

Nigeria na gas country, and di best of im gas still dey ahead.

Gas output in 2025, and e dey rise

On 1 January 2026, Nigeria regulator, di NUPRC, declare reserves of 215.19 trillion cubic feet of gas and 37.5 billion barrels of oil and condensate. For energy terms, di two dey of similar size, but di gas go last far longer: about 85 years at today output, against about 59 for oil. Gas reserves grew in 2025 through new discoveries, while oil reserves fall. NNPC don set target to lift reserves towards 600 tcf.

Nigeria Decade of Gas programme dey get ready for big step forward. Dem expect say more than 20 projects go add about 4.6 billion cubic feet a day, to support production target of 12 billion cubic feet a day by 2030, while demand from homes, industry, power and export dem expect say e go reach about 15 billion cubic feet a day. Di government also plan to distribute five million LPG cylinders to rural women by 2030 for clean cooking.

  • E plenty well-well: one of Africa largest Gas endowments, and more discoveries still dey come.
  • Dey cleaner: Gas dey burn cleaner pass diesel and petrol, and plenty people dey see am as di fuel wey go carry us pass through di energy transition.
  • Closer to home: Gas wey dem produce for Nigeria mean say we go depend less on imported liquid fuels, and e fit cheaper to run.
  • Dem never use am well: plenty part of Nigeria dey far from Gas pipeline, and na dat gap MEA Gas dey ready to fill through road.

New energy and power

EV charging points don start to show for some MEA stations. Power-as-a-service dey bring solar and power solutions to stations and commercial customers step by step. And with L-CNG skids, customers fit buy LNG or CNG right for di forecourt.
