MEA Global Trading
MEA Global Trading

One of the world's great Oil and Gas hubs.

Every day, vast volumes of crude Oil, refined products, LPG and LNG flow through the UAE. From this strategic base, our Dubai desk trades across Fujairah, Jebel Ali and Hamriyah, serving buyers in Africa, India and wider Asia.

Strategic location

A global hub for Oil and Gas, alongside London, Geneva, Singapore and Houston.

The UAE sits where the Gulf, Africa, India and the Far East meet. East Africa, West Africa, India and Asia are a short voyage away. Ports and storage line two coasts, and it is one of the few places in the world where Oil and Gas are bought, stored, financed and shipped at scale.

  • A global hub for Oil and Gas, alongside London, Geneva, Singapore and Houston.
  • Everyone is here: all the major traders, refiners and national Oil companies have an office in the UAE.
  • Two coasts: Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, outside Hormuz, and Jebel Ali and Hamriyah inside the Gulf.
  • Close to growth: Africa, India and the Far East are days away, not weeks.
The UAE in Oil and Gas

Six reasons

Six reasons the UAE matters to Oil and Gas traders.

  • Crude at the source

The UAE produced ~3.8 million barrels a day in 2025 and exported ~3.2 million. ADNOC's capacity of 4.85 million barrels a day heads towards 5 million in 2027.

  • Refined products and LPG

Ruwais, with 922,000 barrels a day, is among the largest refineries in the region. The UAE exports ~1.9 million barrels a day of refined products on average, and ~46% of those exports are LPG or naphtha.

  • Fujairah

On the Gulf of Oman, outside the Strait of Hormuz. Storage of ~18 million cubic metres, one of the largest bunkering hubs in the world, and the end of the Habshan–Fujairah pipeline. A second export pipeline is planned for 2027.

  • Gas

The UAE produces ~57 billion cubic metres a year and uses ~68, importing the gap, mainly from Qatar through the Dolphin pipeline. It aims to be self-sufficient in Gas by 2030. Das Island exports LNG today.

  • Ruwais LNG

A new LNG project of 9.6 million tonnes a year, due in 2028, will add to the UAE's place in the global Gas trade.

  • Where the industry is

Major traders, refiners and national Oil companies all have offices in the UAE. That is why our Dubai desk, our African operations and our partners fit together so naturally.

Figures from the UAE's own agencies and the US EIA differ by source. ADNOC states 4.85 million barrels a day of crude capacity; the EIA estimates 4.15 million.

Our role in the UAE

From the UAE to the GCC and the Far East.

The UAE office buys and sells in Fujairah, Jebel Ali and Hamriyah, and is responsible for the Group's business across the GCC market and the Far East. Our plan for the UAE is to have our own terminal in 2027.

  • UAELocal trades in three hubs, bunkering and offshore supply through partners.
  • GCCSupply and trading relationships across the Gulf states.
  • Far EastSourcing, shipping and trading with Asian partners.
  • 2027Our own terminal in the UAE.
