MEA vision, October 2026

One standard, whichever pump you pull into

Our network of 43 stations (26 active, 17 in development) covers every geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Our target is 70 signed stations by the end of December 2026 and up to 200 within three years, by 2029. Pull into any of them and you get the same standard: honest measure, quality-assured product, clean, well-lit and safe forecourts, and digital payment.

  • Quality fuel: petrol, diesel and other products that reach you through the Group’s own supply chain.
  • SmartPump: automated fuel retail, paid for with a digital wallet.
  • Solar power: almost half of our stations already run on solar power, and the plan is for every station to follow.
  • Loyalty programme with in-app payment, rolling out. Loyal customers will earn rewards and enjoy cheaper fuel prices.
  • Fleet Card System: planned for corporate customers. Drivers fuel with a card instead of cash, the company pays only for the fuel actually loaded, and corporates that qualify get credit.
  • Local people: teams recruited from the communities each station serves.
New energy at the forecourt

New energy at the forecourt

  • EV charging

Charging points are starting to appear at selected MEA stations.

  • Power-as-a-service

Solar and power solutions for stations and commercial customers, rolling out in phases. Customers get reliable power without having to own the equipment.

  • L-CNG skids

Pull in and buy LNG or CNG at the forecourt, opening up the Gas market beyond the grid.

Data-driven stations

Every MEA station is a source of data.

Our stations are data-driven stations. Sensors, payments and cameras feed one platform, so we can see stock, sales and traffic as they happen, spot loss early and plan the next delivery. We want to be the most advanced downstream company in the industry, and technology is how we get there.

  • What every station learns feeds demand forecasting, stock planning and delivery routes.
  • ERP on Microsoft Dynamics across retail, logistics and trading.
  • Sensor-instrumented tanks and pumps to detect theft and loss.
  • Loyalty programme with in-app payment.
  • Analytics at every station: we capture a large amount of data to understand traffic, demand and what our customers need.
Fleet card

Fuel for corporate fleets, under control.

We plan to roll out a Fleet Card System for corporate customers. No more sending cash to drivers to pay for fuel: a company issues MEA fleet cards that work at stations across our network. The driver fills up, and the company pays only for the fuel that was actually loaded.

  • Control:

A clear record of every fill, by card, so you know what was loaded and where.

  • Less misuse:

No cash in drivers’ hands, so less room for theft or misuse of funds.

  • One network:

Your whole fleet can fuel at MEA stations across the country.

  • Credit:

Corporate customers that meet our credit requirements can also fuel on credit.

Where we are heading

Up to 200 stations in Nigeria within three years, and more markets beyond.

Our plan is a network of up to 200 MEA stations in Nigeria within three years, by 2029, with our own storage tanks in Nigeria to match. We do not want to be just a trading house. We want to own assets across the Oil and Gas sector, and in agriculture, so that fuel is handled by our own people from vessel to pump.

  • Up to 200 stations in Nigeria within three years, and our own storage tanks.
  • Over 50 stations and our own storage tanks across Niger.
  • More markets in West and Central Africa.
  • One standard: data-driven stations, tracked trucks and reliable supply in every market.
